Community Call for Volunteers - Any Architects?

As many, but not all, of our community members may be aware, we rent the space where we host our in-person parties. Gallery Erato is a lovely space, but the CSPC once upon a time had our own building, and we hope to have one again!

In the continued search for a new building, we're wondering if there might be an architect within our community who would be interested in assisting with this process. If so, please contact Larry by sending an email to facilitiescoordinator@thecspc.org.

Disappearing Task Force for Improving Transparency Around the CSPC’s Incident Reporting Process

Call for volunteers! Are you interested in helping increase transparency around the CSPC’s incident reporting process? Do you have questions about the process or suggestions for how to make improvements? Here’s your opportunity to make meaningful change. Join HR Director and Conflict Resolution Coordinator, Skitty, as part of a disappearing task force for improving transparency around the CSPC’s incident reporting process.

The task force will begin in October and consist of six meetings. Participants will include members and volunteers. At the first meeting, we will determine the overall scope of the task force, along with the basic agenda for each of the remaining meetings, and schedule the remaining meetings according to majority availability. Any interested CSPC members are welcome to participate and will be asked to make a commitment to the entire process. If you need to miss a meeting, that's understandable, but the process works best if everyone is invested in doing the work. The recommendations we make will, for the most part, be implemented by us! Some of those recommendations will actually be implemented as we go along, while others will take more time and occur after the task force has wrapped up. The task force recommendations will be shared with the entire community at the December 13 Board Meeting, as well as in the newsletter, on Discord, and the CSPC’s other social media platforms. The Board is committed to supporting this task force and its recommendations, and several Board Members plan to participate throughout the process. Here is a breakdown of the preliminary details:

Who can participate?

  • Any interested CSPC members and volunteers

  • The task force will be led by Skitty (HR Director and Conflict Resolution Coordinator)

What is this?

  • A six-week, online working group of volunteers asking questions, proposing solutions, writing policy, and implementing strategies

When will it take place?

  • Once a week, for two hours, beginning in the first week of October and continuing through the second week of November. See the possible dates listed below.

Where will we meet?

  • Online on Zoom

How do I sign up or find out more?

  • Email Skitty at HRdirector@thecspc.org to indicate your interest. Please feel free to include any initial questions, concerns, and ideas you want to share. Take a look at the possible dates listed below and indicate your expected availability/unavailability in your email:

Meeting One:

  • Sun Oct 1st, time TBD

  • Mon Oct 2nd, 7-9pm

  • Wed Oct 4th, 7-9pm

Meeting Two:

  • Thur Oct 12th, 7-9pm

Meeting Three:

  • Mon Oct 16th, 7-9pm

  • Wed Oct 18th, 7-9pm

Meeting Four:

  • Mon Oct 23rd, 7-9pm

  • Sun Oct 29th, time TBD

Meeting Five:

  • Wed Nov 1st, 7-9pm

Meeting Six:

  • Thur Nov 9th, 7-9pm

Make-Up Meeting (if needed):

  • Mon Nov 13th, 7-9pm

  • Wed Nov 15th, 7-9pm

If you cannot participate at these dates and times, fear not! You can participate by providing feedback on the work as it progresses as well as help implement the strategies recommended by the task force. Simply email Skitty at HRdirector@thecspc.org and she will include you in the discussion.

This is the first of many changes to come. There will likely be another disappearing task force early in the new year to address other aspects of the CSPC’s consent policy and practices. It will take a community of volunteers to shape and implement the many improvements we all envision. Let’s get to work!

Volunteer News

Huge gratitude for all the volunteers who helped make The Frolic an event to remember–and that includes all our participants! Everyone stepped up to work at least one shift setting up, helping in the kitchen, working security, checking the Honey Buckets, picking up trash, facilitating orientation, assisting with workshop setup, striking all our equipment… it took a village to make that sexy village happen!

Ready to take your volunteering to the next level? Join us for Registration and Monitor Volunteer Training via Zoom on September 6! Registration will be taught 7-8 p.m. and Monitor training will be 8-9 p.m. at the same link.

Not yet a volunteer? Complete your online volunteer orientation and application here to become part of the team that makes the hotness happen! There are plenty of ways to volunteer at parties and behind the scenes.

Setup/Strike Volunteers Needed

Want to pick your camp spot early and eat yummy gyros? Arrive between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Monday, August 14 for setup. We'll have gyros for dinner. Strike on Sunday includes dinner. You are welcome to stay over but you don't have to. The best part… The Queen of setup and strike is in charge! (And it's not me, says Turtle.)

Email Turtle to sign up for setup/strike! Frolic@thecspc.org

Kinksters Got Talent!

Friday night, August 18, the entertainment is all of you uniquely talented individuals! Without question, we have some of the most uniquely talented individuals on this precious earth attending The Frolic this year. As such, we are basically all but required to give you an opportunity to showcase those talents.

As we welcome people from all walks of life, we welcome all forms of talent to this show. Throw your propriety to the wind, and share those secret talents you’ve been hiding.

Get creative! Can you juggle dildos? Can you pick up a dumbbell with your penis? Play the flute with your vagina? Make your boobs dance in opposite directions? Do you have a comedy routine you’d love to share? Or a monologue about pooping at work? Now is the time to bust out your favorite scene from The Vagina Monologues or refresh your best dance routines.

Sign-ups will be available during The Frolic leading up to the event on Friday night, so be sure to sign up early if you want to set the bar high and catch the audience while they’re fresh!

Are you so talented that you’re not sure what would be best to share, or worried your talent might violate an existing rule for the camp? Feel free to reach out to The Frolic entertainment team for advice and approval at frolicentertainment@thecspc.org and remember that standard camp rules apply.

Flee Market!

"Hold on a second! Don't you mean Flea Market?"

"Nope! I meant Flee!"

Get your extra gear that is gathering dust, that corset you never wear, those special books, cuffs, leather, latex, spanking bench… Clean it up and bring it to our mini Frolic market. Buy, sell, trade…then flee the market to try out your new treasures!

Are you a maker or creator? Bring your kinky goods to sell! You must be attending The Frolic to participate. No, we are not taking a cut. We just want to support our community members! Email Turtle or Larry at frolic@thecspc.org with questions!

Community Matters: Volunteer-O-Rama + New Board Member!

New Board Member

Welcome to our newest Board member, Teeebone! You might know him as a DJ at PPMT, a tech host for one of our many online events, the writer of the long-running newsletter column dedicated to CSPC history, or one of the many other ways he has contributed to the CSPC community over the years. As a member of the CSPC for over 18 years, Teeebone has served in every in-person event-facing role including party champion, setup/strike, cashier/registration, party ambassador, DJ, monitor, host, tech host, and EC. He has also served behind the scenes designing event posters, writing for the newsletter, developing the new party guide program, and supporting major events like Pride and the Frolic. His deep historical knowledge of the CSPC, his experience in building and supporting volunteer teams to ensure long term success, and his willingness to devote his energy to the growth and evolution of the CSPC will make him a strong team member on the Board. Please join us in offering him a huge welcome as he takes on yet another volunteer role supporting the CSPC!

Volunteers Make the Hotness Happen!

The CSPC needs you! Volunteers run all our sexy events and take on all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our community running smoothly. As the number of events we offer grows, so does our need for more volunteers who can share the load–many hands make light work! Whether you want to join a team that works behind the scenes, become a regular volunteer at a specific event, or pick up occasional last-minute party shifts when a regular volunteer calls in sick, there’s a volunteer role just right for you! Give back to your sex-positive community and get free entry to events you work (pre-purchased tickets can be moved to a future event if you take a last-minute party shift). See our Volunteering web page for the simple steps to become a volunteer today!

Volunteer Appreciation!

Volunteers create all our fun parties, keep our events safe and even take out the trash and clean the floors. Without you, none of this kinky fun would be possible!

As a “Thank you!” for all your hard work, the Board is putting together a day of fun in the sun on Sunday, July 23 from 12 to 6 p.m. Current CSPC volunteers with active Volgistics accounts (as well as up to two guests) are invited to this free, outdoor play party. (As this is outdoors, masks are optional.) Come on out for socializing, home cooked food, a swag raffle, lots of play time, and a pile of thank you's.

Our outdoor venue is located in Snohomish; address will be provided via email after registration. Register here today! Please consider carpooling as parking will be limited. Carpooling can be arranged on Discord or through the Volunteer Google Group. Please note any dietary restrictions during registration.

Thank you so much for all you do for the CSPC family! We'll see you on the 23rd for a big ol' Smack on the Back!

Advanced Volunteer Training

Ready to up your volunteering game? Join us online July 24 for advanced volunteer training! From 7-8 p.m. there will be Registration training for anyone interested in facilitating our front-of-house operations. If you have experience in customer service and like the idea of greeting our partygoers while smoothing their way to kinky enjoyment, this could be a great opportunity.

From 8-9 p.m. we'll have a Monitor training classroom. Monitors are a key component of our mission. If you're passionate about consent culture, responsible kink, and just plain helping your fellow community members, please consider becoming one of our Monitors by taking this first step.

To sign up, simply follow these steps:

  • Log into Volgistics (if you haven't already created an account, use the new volunteer steps here to get started)

  • Select the “My Schedule” tab/menu item, then navigate to July 24

  • Use the “Schedule me” buttons to sign up for each class you plan to attend

A shortened link to the Zoom meeting is included in the shift information. Signing up in Volgistics for the classes will help us update accounts more quickly after each class as well as letting the team know you plan on attending (in case of any technical difficulties or similar, we can send a note to let you know what's going on).

If you have opted in for 'Schedule Reminder' communications, you will also receive the link via email 2 days before the training.

A couple of notes on training:

  • Monitor class attendees will have completed the first step on the path for monitoring. You'll work with monitorlead@thecspc.org to schedule shadow shifts for training with a monitor at events before you will be able to sign up for monitoring on your own.

  • Registration class attendees should be ready for shifts right away (please allow up to 1 week for Volgistics to be updated after class)

If you have any questions please send emails to eventsdirector@thecspc.org

Hope to see you there!
