The CSPC

Welcome MK to the Board!

At our June public board meeting on June 12, 2025, we voted in a brand-new board member. Please join us in welcoming MK (they/them) to the CSPC Board of Directors!

“Howdy! My name is MK, my pronouns are they/them. I am a queer, agender, polyamorous, kinky, sex-positive individual that is passionate about building a space for kinksters to explore aspects of themselves with like-minded people.
I have known that I am kinky for many years after discovering kink on Tumblr back in the day. I discovered the CSPC back in 2022 and funnily enough, when I was on my way, my car broke down and I didn't make it to that event. I found my way back when I attended my first event in January 2024. I didn't know that the CSPC was the community I needed until I found my way here, and I feel so thankful for the people I've met and connected with through this space.

I've been an active volunteer in my time here so far. I have volunteered at parties in multiple roles and am a Party Champion of Fresh Meet, supported the first and am now a co-host of the Clothing Closet Social, volunteered at The Frolic in 2024 as a Meal Lead, created the Gangbang Recommendations and Scene Coordinator Guide, tabled at Capitol Hill Pride in 2024 and volunteered at KinkFest 2025 for our organization.”

We’re super excited to have MK on board (no pun intended)!

Upcoming Social Events

In 2025 we introduced social weeknight events, and we’re very happy with how they’ve been going! We have the first Wednesday and the third Monday of each month at Gallery Erato, so those are the days you’ll want to keep free if you’re interested in attending a social.

Here is a general “Save the Date” for some upcoming social events that may not be on the website yet, but are in the planning process. The exact timing of some of these events is still in flux, but will be some time within the 5:00pm - 9:00pm window.

July 2: Maid & Butler Social
Get ready for the first-ever Maid and Butler Cafe Social! Be entertained and pampered by dedicated servers eager to fulfill your wishes. The social will allow members to engage in protocol, service, and roleplay. Plus, you’ll get to indulge in some tasty snacks! Members are encouraged to wear something that makes them feel stunning. Don't miss out on this exclusive, members-only event!

July 21: Members Social - Masking required (running during and after NMO)
This event is a chance for community members to hang out at the Gallery, with the addition of some brand-new members who will join us after they attend New Member Orientation! This event will require masking so that all of our immunocompromised friends can comfortably join in on the fun.

August 6: Clothing Closet
A reprisal of our popular event that we held back in March! A “Clothing Closet” is a community resource where everyone is welcome to browse, try on, and take whatever items they can use. This will be a temporary, pop-up Clothing Closet, stocked by Members for Members. Start cleaning out your closets, folks!

August 18: CSPC Munch
The CSPC Munch is a great event for folks already involved with the CSPC and for those who are curious about the organization. The munch is a casual social space to chat with friends, meet new people, ask questions, play games, and/or learn more about the CSPC! This event is open to the public and does not require pre-registration (but do remember to bring your ID).

We are currently planning out into September and beyond, so if there’s a theme you want to see for a non-play gathering please email eventsdirector@thecspc.org with your idea!

Broaden Your Mind

Other Community Events to Enjoy!

The CSPC throws amazing parties and hosts many important discussions on various topics. But luckily, we live in a place where there are many more options to dive into sex- and body-positive culture. The list below is just a sampling of some great events coming up in the next month.

We include non-CSPC events in every issue. If you have an event suggestion or feedback from a past event you’ve attended, please email Marissa at newsletter@thecspc.org and it might make it into our next issue!

Editor’s note for all events*

As a reminder, these are non-CSPC events. We include them as a way to open your mind to other experiences, but we have no control over them, their content, or their missions. We encourage you to vet other organizations to see if they are places you would feel comfortable, and we appreciate feedback if we have listed an organization/event that does not appear to uphold CSPC values.

Northwest Film Forum | LA Plays Itself ($7–$15 | in person)

One of the most transgressive queer filmmakers of the 20th century, Fred Halsted pushed all-male filmmaking in new directions with his debut feature LA Plays Itself. This year, Three Dollar Bill Cinema is turning back the clock and turning up the volume with a fierce, joy-filled retrospective at the Queer & Trans Film Festival 2025—July 10–12 at Broadway Performance Hall and Erickson Theater. We’re uniting the legacy of the Seattle Queer Film Festival and TRANS|lations to celebrate 30 years of queer cinema and 20 years of trans storytelling. That means iconic shorts and features from festivals past, a brand-new lineup of trans-made and trans-led short films, and a spotlight on the brilliant local voices that shaped our scene. No virtual fest this year—so mark your calendar, grab your crew, and get ready to celebrate the stories that made us.

Conflict Resolution Coordinator Handoff

Hi fellow CSPC Members! This is Skitty, your HR Director and Conflict Resolution Coordinator. I have been volunteering in these roles (as well as additional roles) for years. This has been a lot of heavy lifting, for a very long time. So, I will be stepping back from the position of Conflict Resolution Coordinator at the 8/13/25 Board Meeting. That may seem like a long time off, but from a handoff sense, there isn’t a moment to lose.

You may be thinking, “I didn’t know we had a Conflict Resolution Coordinator. What even is that?” Here’s an overview. The Conflict Resolution Coordinator:

  • leads the Incident Handling Team

  • designs and improves incident handling tools and processes

  • collaborates with volunteers in other areas of the CSPC to resolve incidents and reduce the likelihood of future occurrences

  • actively designs CSPC policies to promote a culture of consent

Over the past few years, there has been a lot of growth in how we handle consent incidents at the CSPC. I am continuing to lay the groundwork for a team approach to conflict resolution and incident handling that wasn’t viable in the past. My plan is to have a solid, well-functioning structure in place prior to the August handoff.

Hopefully you are thinking, “What can I do to help?” I’m glad you asked. Here’s what we need:

  • Keep practicing consent!

  • Keep speaking up when something looks or feels nonconsensual or just “wrong.”

    • preferably in the moment, communicate your concerns to those involved and to those who can help problem solve (including Monitors, ECs, and Discord Mods)

    • if you are not able to reach resolution, file an incident report or Discord ticket

  • Educate yourself! The opportunities are endless.

  • Volunteer - your ideas, your time, your expertise.

  • If you are already volunteering, train for a position of greater responsibility.

  • If you wish to volunteer with the Conflict Resolution Team, email hrdirector@thecspc.org

    • Heads-up:

      • volunteering with this team requires you to initiate each step

      • you need to self-direct and follow through

      • an ongoing commitment is required

      • willingness to maintain impartiality and confidentiality are mandatory

  • If you are already part of the team and are interested in being the next Conflict Resolution Coordinator, email hrdirector@thecspc.org.

I will continue to share more information between now and August. Stay tuned!

Additional Changes for New Member Orientation offerings

We have made some new adjustments to when we offer New Member Orientation based on community feedback, volunteer availability, and event host suggestions.

Back in April, both Power Play Mixed-Tape and The Grind events ceased to include a New Member Orientation (NMO). These parties now begin one hour earlier and end one hour earlier.

NEW! We have added Myself! to the list of no-NMO parties. Check the Event Listing for more info!

We are hosting our first in-person New Member Orientation and social hour at the Gallery on June 4th, 2025. If you’re interested in becoming a member and the idea of attending a full party feels like a lot, we encourage you to check out this new NMO format as a gentler introduction to the CSPC and our community.

If you are interested in becoming a NMO leader, please email volunteerliaison@thecspc.org to get more information!
